I Can Stand Without Stonebwoy’ – OV Explains



Okailey Verse, known in the music scene as OV has debunked all claims of her riding on Stonebwoy’s glory to fame.

“I went to Hit Maker without Stonebwoy, I went alone and won. I can stand without Stonebwoy”, these were the words of singer OV when she was confronted on whether she can be relevant without Stonebwoy.

Up until September this year, Kelvyn Boy who was under the management of Stonebwoy produced great tunes that earned him great popularity in Ghana and beyond.

The turn of events got fans disappointed as they sort answers for Stonebwoy’s unexpectedly decision to sack the young act. Notwithstanding Kelvyn Boy has proven that he can still find his feet without his former label.

OV has performed alongside Stonebwoy on several platforms including Bhim Concert, VGMA’s Experience Concert, KNUST Repu just to mention a few.

The singer has some popular songs to her credit including her single ‘Want Me’ which was produced by StreetBeats featuring Stonebwoy.

Okailey Verse believes that she shot to fame with her cover songs of other musicians. OV was able to build her fame base before her decision to join MTN Hit Maker in 2018.

Speaking on the Delay Show, she however acknowledged that her cover of Stonebwoy’s ‘Tommorow’ flew her into the music scene.

“I have been around doing music, it all started in 2017 after the demise of my brother. I was going to studios and recording with Producers. I released 3 songs before Hit Maker and featured Epixode in one of my songs”.

Nanky wins VGMA21 unsung initiative



Ahead of the most prestigious music awards scheme in Ghana, Vodafone Ghana Music Awards 2021 slated for 25th and 26th June, Nanky has been announced winner of the Unsung Initiative.

The fast rising 28 year old Tema based Afro-Pop. R&B, Highlife singer who is currently signed on Sultan Incorporation was on Friday 18th June 2021 announced winner on TV3’s Showbiz 360 hosted by Giovani Caleb. He won ahead of his competitors Oseikrom sikani, Adelaide the seer, Koby Tuesday, Kwame Yogot, Malcom Nuna, Queendalyn and Naana Blu.

Nanky, as the tradition has been since its inception in 2015, will get to perform at this year’s edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards which would be held on Saturday, 26th June, 2021.

The Unsung is an initiative to project underground artistes who need the platform and exposure to make it to mainstream. Previous year’s has seen winners like Lynx Entertainment artiste Kuami Eugene, Reggae/dancehall artiste KelvynBoy among others.

Kwesi Omega Emerges As MC Of The Year At The Fashion And Lifestyle Award 2021.



Dynamic Ghanaian master of ceremonies (Mc) Norshie Israel Asiwome who is known as Kwesi Omega/Mc extraordinaire in the circles have been adjourned MC of the year at the 5th edition of the fashion and lifestyle awards (FALA) 2021 in Accra.

The impact hub Accra -Osu played host to industry magnets who thronged it’s premises to receive recognition for their work as others tagged along to support their favorite performers and personalities.

The scheme which awarded 20 creatives on the night bestowed on Kwesi Omega, the Master of ceremonies of the year amidst cheers and applauds as event-goers chant, “You deserve it, You do all” among others. All in a positive response to him emerging as the winner of the well-regarded category.

In his acceptance speech, the talented and prolific speaker Kwesi Omega motioned that he is grateful to God and to all who believe in him, voted for him, hired him, passed him events, and recommended him.

He mentioned that, “three years ago I was nominated for this category alongside a few of my top-notch colleagues. The late Wiafe, favorite MC’s favorite MC won the category and I told him I was going to win after him. Few years down the line I have won the most revered category.”

Touching on his motivation and drive, He exclaimed, “Never give up” and continued to say tenderly in a rather calm tone, “to be the best in your industry, you don’t need to beat anyone, you just need to do your best and be your best and be you – be original” he ended as his words elicited applauds from the audience.

Kwesi Omega, a professional Mc and a Public Relations and Communications person have hosted 134 events in his three-year journey as an MC and still counting. He is optimistic about conquering Ghana, Africa, and the world so everyone can experience his talent and craft.
