Suspècted robbérs shoot police officer, bullion van driver at Korle-bu.

Suspected armed robbers have shot to death a police officer and an eyewitness during a robbery of a bullion van at Korle-bu, Monday.

According to an eyewitness, the police officer was providing security for the van while the young lady only witnessed the incident. The driver of the van also sustained severe injuries.

Adom News’ Mensah Abrampah reports that the van carrying an unknown amount of cash was trailed by some men in a taxi and on a motorbike popularly called ‘okada’. When the van got to a less crowded place, the robbers attacked the van by firing indiscriminately at it, killing the police officer on board immediately.

According to the reporter, an onlooker also caught a bullet from the shooting and died on the spot.

The driver is receiving treatment at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital while the dead have been taken to the Police Hospital for preservation and autopsy.

Meanwhile, the police are yet to make an official statement on the matter as they are currently at the scene conducting a preliminary investigation.

Shatta Wale set to launch ride-hailing service, Shatta Taxi (Shaxi)

Reggae/Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has announced he will be launching his own ride hailing service dubbed Shaxi.

‘Shaxi’ short for Shatta Taxi, he revealed, is part of efforts he is making to provide jobs for some of the youths in various communities.

Taking to Twitter, the ‘Melissa’ hitmaker wrote, “Shatta Movement fans are going to be employed. The youth are going to be employed, the street [boys] are going to be employed, yes we all can play a role in reducing the unemployment rate. It’s coming #SHAXI.”

In another post, Shatta Wale urged persons interested in joining the service to prepare to apply for jobs in his new company.

The ‘My Level’ hitmaker assured that the drivers who work for his company will “enjoy” their work.

Shatta Wale stated that the new initiative, which he believes is revolutionary, will help every driver earn more money as they deserve to.

“To all my drivers always complaining about being cheated on, don’t worry, I get good news for y’all. You are about to enjoy your work as drivers. SHAXI gotcha covered, it’s taking us time to get everything right. And finally we are ready,” he wrote. [SIC]

Taking to social media, many Ghanaians applauded Shatta Wale for the efforts he is making to ensure the unemployed youth are gainfully employed.

Man lynched to death over scrap thief at Ofankor

A man has been lynched at Ofankor for allegedly stealing scrap metals.

The Unit Committee Chairman for Ofankor South, Nana David, told Kwame Appiah Kubi on Accra100.5FM’s morning show Ghana Yensom that the alleged robber was caught at dawn stealing the railings along a footbridge in the area.

The body was still lying in the open as of the time the local assembly official spoke to Kwame Appiah Kubi.

The police were also yet to arrive at the scene of the incident.

Meanwhile, a relative to the lynched man, Afia Manu, told to Kwame Appiah Kubi that her deceased relative was into selling shoes and clothes but suddenly turned to dealing in scraps.

She recalled a similar incident where her relative was reported to her as having stolen something.

She said she advised him against stealing but to no avail.

‘Welcome to Eazi’s Jungle’ is the first inscription to greet patrons who thronged Kozo, an open space restaurant located at West Airport where musician Mr Eazi’s celebrated his 30th birthday celebration with family and friends.

The event saw notable names such as his girlfriend Temi Otedola, Kwesi Arthur, Kwamina Mp, actor Adjetey Anang, Micheal Dappah, musician Efya, French Ambassador to Ghana Anne Sophie Avé, Bola Ray, Real Housewives of Atlanta star Tanya Sam among a host of others.

The surprise of the night was the father of the musician who flew in from the US to share in the joy of his son.

He believes his son is destined for greater things ahead and that “his ministry has just begun,” he added.

Known in real life as Oluwatosin Ajibade, Mr Eazi, is a Ghana-based Nigerian singer, songwriter, and entrepreneur

He is the pioneer of Banku Music, a fusion sound he describes as a mixture of Ghanaian highlife and Nigerian chord progressions and patterns.
